Johnson & Wales
Johnson and Wales University, located in Providence, Rhode Island, is one of the most prominent cooking institutions in the world. Chef’s Choice:
What is Chef's Choice?
Johnson & Wales University is pleased to offer Chef's Choice, an innovative program of hands-on cooking classes taught by professional chef instructors. It caters to people of all ages. The interactive one-day classes are designed for people on the go. The minimum age requirement to participate in Chef's Choice classes is 16 years old for the adult classes and 21 years of age for wine classes. They also offer kids and teen classes.

To help determine the best fit class, each Chef's Choice class has a level requirement to give participants a better understanding of the difficulty of a class.
Level 1 – Beginner Introductory skills such as knife cuts and kitchen terms are described in each class. These classes are great for beginners.
Level 2 – Intermediate While suitable for everyone, these classes offer a more advanced menu that requires some knowledge of culinary technique.
Level 3 – Advanced These classes are for those that feel comfortable in the kitchen.

Before you cook at Johnson & Wales:
-Register up to one week prior to the class date, or until the class is filled.
-Flat, rubber-soled shoes such as sneakers are required (No open shoes or high heels are not allowed)
-Once you register, you will receive a confirmation letter and a parking pass. Do not forget to bring these the day of the class.

Ninecooks
Private Cooking Classes with Lydia
Private cooking classes are for groups of 6-8 and available October through May. Classes are modeled after Ninecooks' popular cooking groups, and classes feature hands-on cooking in the casual setting of the Ninecooks’ log house kitchen in scenic northwest Rhode Island. Each group is offered up to six menu options. The menu generally includes an appetizer, main dish with vegetable/salad, and a light dessert. The meal that is created is served buffet style in the kitchen, with casual dining. In warmer weather, the dining takes place outdoors. All participants receive a folder of recipes of the meals made during the cooking class.
